Thorlux G3 MRI – designed to meet the requirements of MRI rooms

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is based on a powerful magnetic field and radio waves, which means that MRI lighting solutions must also meet specific compatibility requirements within the imaging environment. One of the key challenges has been finding LED lighting that operates reliably in a strong and changing magnetic field while ensuring that it does not interfere with precise imaging measurements.

For the MRI room at medical centre Mehiläinen NEO in Turku Finland, specially designed Thorlux G3 MRI luminaires were selected for use in the MRI environment. The G3 MRI luminaires feature a remote control gear and DALI-controlled dimming unit located outside the shielded room, ensuring interference-free operation. Thanks to the dimming capability, the lighting level can be adjusted to suit the needs of both the patient and the imaging procedure during the examination, and then restored to a normal level afterwards.

With Thorlux G3 MRI luminaires, a high-quality, interference-free and user-friendly LED lighting solution was implemented for the MRI room. The users of the facility have been highly satisfied with the result.
