First LED illuminated fire station in Europe
The brand new fire station in Simpele, Eastern Finland, is the first LED illuminated fire station in Europe. The station has 725 m2 of floorspace which will be shared by the Emergency services of South Karelia region (585 m2) and Ekso, the social and health department of South Karelia will get 140 m2 for an ambulance garage. The construction work was completed in February 2013.
The new fire station is designed by Architect Agency Manninen from Imatra, Finland, HVAC is done by HVAC-engineering agency Termoins Oy and the electricity is designed by Etteplan Design Center Oy. The construction structure is planned by Imatra Juva Oy.
Etteplan Design Center, the company taking care of the electricity planning for the project, was keen to find modern and ecological lighting solutions and that is why they chose LED luminaires for the station. Easy LED Oy was selected as the supplier for the LED lights.
Approximately 120 new lamps were installed to the fire station:

Harri Patrikka, the designer from Ettaplan has only good experiencies working with Easy LED and its luminaires. “The products and service of Easy LED are high class and I am going to use them also in the future”, states satisfied Mr Patrikka.
